This summer, TPS underwent a major transformation and announced its new leadership for the upcoming season on Friday.
The new captain is the star defender Tarmo Reunanen, 27, who has also played in the NHL and made his return to the league this season.
Reunanen’s alternate captains are Danish defender Oliver Lauridsen, 36, who is starting his third season with the team, and 23-year-old forward Joel Määttä, who returned to Finland this season after playing three previous seasons in U.S. college hockey.
Last season’s captain of TPS, Casimir Jürgens, continues his career with Pelicans.
