TPS: fierce counterattack!
TPS received bad news from the infirmary on Wednesday.
The Turku club reports on its website that top forward Aleksi Saarela is expected to take a long break from action. Saarela, who returned to Finland due to military service, will be sidelined for at least 6-8 weeks due to an injury.
The 28-year-old Saarela was injured in last Friday’s match against KalPa. The second-generation hockey star has scored four goals and seven points in 11 games this season.
At the same time, TPS announced that Veli-Matti Savinainen has recovered as scheduled and the veteran forward is likely to be seen in the lineup in a few weeks.
Goalkeeper Eetu Mäkiniemi is expected to return to playing condition after the national team break. There is currently no recovery forecast for Linus Nässén and Robin Keihäs.
