Top signing! Lars Bryggman returns to the League: “Experienced and winning player”
TPS has made a two-year contract with Swedish forward Lars Bryggman.
Bryggman, 33, represented Skellefteå AIK in the SHL last season, where he also won the championship at the end of the season. Bryggman scored 21 points in 47 regular season games with 10+11=21 and 9 points in 15 playoff games with 5+4=9.
Bryggman is a familiar name from Pelicans, which he represented during the 2022-25 seasons. He scored a total of 117 points in 158 regular season games in Lahti with 57+60=117 and 19 points in 35 playoff games with 10+9=19. He achieved silver twice with the club.
– His personality and professional approach fit excellently into the culture we want to build here. Lasse represents exactly the type of player profile we have been looking for, so it is great to have a player of his caliber committed to us for two years, commented TPS’s sports director Mika Suoraniemi in the club’s announcement.
TPS’s head coach Toni Söderholm emphasized Bryggman’s versatility and ability to influence the game in many areas.
– TPS gets an experienced and winning player who knows his playing identity. A strong on-ice leader for us in every way. He brings strength, size, and reach. Of course, we hope he enjoys being in front of the net, where he has often been really effective. Winning loose pucks and creating space in special teams are strengths we hope he will bring us – and of course versatility. This season, it was clearly visible what he brought to his own team: strong battling, strong commitment to the team’s play, and the team’s advantage. Those were things that stood out positively to me, Söderholm states.
