The crisis team Ilves played their worst match of the season on Saturday. The floppy-eared ones lost the match against HIFK with a humiliating score of 1-6 despite the opponent having 13 players on the injured list.

In the post-match press conference, Ilves’ head coach Tommi Niemelä gave a stern feedback to his team.

– An unforgivingly poor performance from us as a team today. We cannot be satisfied with anything today, not with anything, Niemelä said bluntly.

– We have quite a lot to think about again regarding what kind of team we want to be. If we consider that we have played good games, but haven’t achieved the results we wanted, then today we certainly didn’t deserve anything. We need to be a lot better in everything.

After 13 matches played, Ilves is in 15th place in the league. The team’s games continue in the League next Friday with a home match against TPS.
