HPK’s goalkeeper Max Väyrynen is moving to Kalajoen JHT on a temporary loan agreement in the Suomi series.

HPK has the option to recall Väyrynen if necessary. Väyrynen will join JHT’s roster on Monday.

Väyrynen, 24, arrived at HPK last January. He managed to play two games for the club last season. Väyrynen’s contract with HPK is valid until spring 2028.

– The new rule changes in Mestis significantly restrict the loaning of league players to Mestis clubs. Our goal is to get Max as many games as possible, so Kalajoki offers an opportunity for that, HPK’s player scout Jukka Voutilainen states in the club’s announcement.

HPK’s goalkeeper department includes Kim Saarinen and Jacob Crespin, who will carry the most responsibility in the upcoming season.
