The SHL crisis watch is buzzing: a large group of players is coming to the transfer market.
The Linköping season in the SHL ended with the regular season and a big disappointment. For the next season, the team’s core is largely in place, but according to Expressen, significant changes are being sought and some players under contract can be expected to change scenery.
– Players who may be at risk are Theodor Lennström and Remi Elie, whose seasons were plagued by injuries, the newspaper writes.
Power forward Elie played only seven games with a score of 4+0. Last season, the 30-year-old winger scored 15+11=26 points in 49 SHL games.
Defenseman Lennström, on the other hand, played 18 games this season with a score of 0+7. His point total was 11 points below zero.
– Defenseman David Bernhardt has a well-paid contract, and Linköping aims to terminate it or find him a new employer. The forward duo Zion Nybeck and Oliver Johansson have also been mentioned as names affected by the club’s desire for change.
Bernhardt’s season was a huge disappointment. The puck-moving defenseman scored a modest 5+14=19 points in 46 games, and his point total was 23 points below zero. Last season, he collected 32 points in MoDo. Bernhardt is a familiar name in the league from SaiPa and HIFK.
Nybeck and Johansson, on the other hand, are younger forward names. The 23-year-old Nybeck has previously produced impressive results in HockeyAllsvenskan, but his first season in the SHL was lackluster. He scored 5+7=12 points in 52 games.
22-year-old Johansson also has yet to make his breakthrough in the SHL. He collected 2+2=4 points in 41 games this season.
