The powerhouse of last season: the season is over!
The American forward Patrick Khodorenko, 26, who represented Lukko in the league last season, signed a contract with the German DEL team Eisbären Berlin for the remainder of the season two weeks ago. However, Khodorenko’s season is already over.
Eisbären states in their announcement that Khodorenko was injured in Sunday’s match against ERC Ingolstadt and had to leave the game in the first period due to a knee injury. Khodorenko will undergo knee surgery, and his recovery will keep him out for the rest of the season.
– Patrick’s injury is a shock to us. He made an impression in the games he played and rose to an important role. We will provide Patrick with everything he needs for recovery and will support him, Eisbären’s sports director Stéphane Richer says in the club’s announcement.
Khodorenko managed to play four games for his new team, recording 1+2 points.
Last season, Khodorenko scored 15+19=34 points in 60 regular season games with Lukko and 2+4=6 points in 11 playoff games.
