The Jukurit team announces yet another player’s departure. The club has loaned defender Juuso Arola for the remainder of the season to Switzerland’s HC Fribourg-Gotteron.

Arola, 26, represented Jukurit for the second season. He has risen to the elite of Liiga defenders this season, scoring 29 points with 5 goals and 24 assists in 49 games. Arola is Jukurit’s most effective defender, the second-best scorer, and seventh in the entire Liiga defenders’ scoring chart. His plus/minus rating stands at +10.

– All these measures we have already taken and will take aim to ensure that we are stronger next season. All these compensations we receive from players will help us in next season’s sports activities. For the current season, our young players will now have opportunities to prove themselves, and as seen yesterday, the boys responded excellently to the call. We have done quality work on the junior side, Jukurit’s sports director Mikko Hakkarainen says in the club’s announcement.

– Juuso is a prime example of how our quality daily routine has enabled him to take the next steps forward as a player. He played in Mestis for a long time and got the opportunity to play in Liiga with us. He has worked hard for his development and now gets to measure his level in a tough league, Hakkarainen explains.

Arola’s new team Fribourg is currently in second place in the Swiss top league.
