The Canadian defender Brad Hunt, 37, who represented Vaasan Sport last season, has decided to end his playing career. He announces his retirement decision on Instagram.

Hunt played 53 games for Sport last season. He recorded 25 points with 7 goals and 18 assists.

Before last season, Hunt had played his entire career in North America. He played 288 regular season games in the NHL (26+60=86) and five playoff games. Hunt represented the Edmonton Oilers, St. Louis Blues, Nashville Predators, Vegas Golden Knights, Minnesota Wild, Vancouver Canucks, and Colorado Avalanche.

Hunt represented Canada in the 2023 World Championships in the spring. Canada won the championship at that time.

In the AHL, Hunt played over 400 games in his career.
