The Mestis club TUTO Hockey has made an interesting acquisition for its lower division.

The Turku club announces that it has signed a 1+1 year contract with American defenseman Dilan Savenkov. The contract includes a one-month trial period.

The 24-year-old Savenkov played last season in the farm’s farm, the ECHL. This season, the tough defenseman has been without a team.

Last season, Savenkov played 16 ECHL games with the Utah Grizzlies, recording 0+1 points. He also played nine games with the Savannah Ghost Pirates.

– Dilan Savenkov is a very agile player who can perform well under pressure. He is capable of physical play, which provides important support for our young team.

– As a new player at this stage of the season, he brings freshness, energy, and new vigor, which will quickly be visible in the team’s daily life. His cheerful and positive personality makes him approachable. Dilan is motivated to play for TUTO and genuinely wants to contribute to the team, says TUTO’s head coach Samuli Marjeta in the club’s announcement.

The American Savenkov was originally born in Tallinn and has experience with Estonia’s under-18 and under-20 national teams. He also played in Finland for the Espoo Blues’ U16 team during the 2016-17 season.

TUTO is currently seventh in the Mestis league standings. The Turku club has expressed its desire to play at the highest level in Finland in the future.

The future champion of Mestis can apply for a place in the Liiga at the end of the season.
