The Lions defender flew to the shower in under two minutes – now the verdict has come
Lukko’s Nuutti Viitasalo will miss Saturday’s local match against Ässät.
Liiga announced on Saturday that it has suspended the defender for a temporary period due to a cross-checking penalty that occurred during the teams’ meeting on Friday.
Viitasalo’s Friday night in Pori was short-lived. The defender received a five-minute penalty and a game misconduct just one minute and 50 seconds into the match.
Lukko secured a 3–0 victory on the road. The teams will face each other again on Saturday in Rauma, but Viitasalo will have to watch the battle from the stands.
Viitasalo, who has also played for the Lions, is in his third season with Lukko. Last season, he recorded 8+12=20 points in 60 regular season games.
In this season’s eight games, the defender has collected 0+3 points.
