The league’s point shooter found a new team
Canadian forward Nate Schnarr, 26, leaves the Finnish rinks behind after two seasons.
The German DEL team Kölner Haie has made a comprehensive contract with Schnarr for the next season.
– Nate has shown in Finland over the past two years that he is a team player and contributes to the offensive play. He will bring quality and depth to the center position. We are very happy to have him in our ranks, says Köln’s sports director Matthias Baldys in the club’s statement.
Schnarr scored 34 points (17+17) in 46 games last season with JYP. The season before, he was part of the Pelicans’ silver team, finishing with 50 points (18+32) in 51 regular season games and 7 points (1+6) in 17 playoff games.
Köln’s head coach is Kari Jalonen. The team will also feature several Finns next season: defenders Oliwer Kaski, Valtteri Kemiläinen, and Veli-Matti Vittasmäki, as well as forward Juhani Tyrväinen.
