The league has signed a massive contract!
The Finnish Ice Hockey League Ltd and Veikkaus continue their long-term cooperation. The parties have signed a five-year extension agreement, which will start from the 2026-27 season and cover until the end of the 2030-31 season.
The league has been collaborating with Veikkaus for a long time. Already in the 1980s, Veikkaus worked with certain clubs. In 1994, the league introduced Veikkaus betting’s golden helmets.
Under the new agreement, league clubs will have the opportunity to make their own local agreements with gambling operators in the future.
The new agreement is historic in terms of magnitude and significance. The league and Veikkaus will move towards a reform of the gambling system in 2027 under its framework. The agreement is also important in light of the league’s series model reform.
– We are very pleased that Veikkaus continues as the main partner of the league with a multi-year agreement. Both the league and Veikkaus are experiencing a time of change, and together we can support each other’s success in the future, says the league’s CEO Mikko Pulkkinen in a statement.
– We are on the brink of a new era in the league, and the long cooperation agreement with Veikkaus is an excellent demonstration of the growing interest in the league. As the Finnish gambling market evolves, the league wants to work together with Veikkaus as an example of mutually beneficial, diverse, and memorable cooperation, Pulkkinen continues.
