TPS’s forward Aleksi Saarela will move to Rauman Lukko next season, Iltalehti’s reporter Timo Kunnari reports in the Lätkäpodi podcast.

According to previous information from Iltalehti, Saarela’s team for next season would be either from Switzerland or Rauma, but it is now certain that the forward chose the domestic option.

Saarela, 29, last played for Lukko in the 2020–21 season after returning from the NHL. This season, he scored 35 points (20+15) in 53 games for TPS.

Lukko also has a contract for next season with Aleksi Saarela’s brother, Antti Saarela.

Urheilucast’s Esko Seppänen previously reported that Saarela was also negotiating a continuation with TPS, but a three-year contract would have required an investment of about one million euros, which was too much for the Turku team.
