A shocking incident occurred during the game between the Colorado Avalanche and the Vegas Golden Knights. Colorado’s head coach Jared Bednar was unfortunately injured.

Vegas forward Keegan Kolesar attempted to throw the puck from the center ice to his offensive zone. However, the rubber disc flew into the Colorado bench and struck Bednar on the side of the head.

Bednar immediately left for the locker room holding his head with a towel. The coach was rushed to the hospital for further examination.

According to Colorado’s spokesperson, Bednar is awake and alert. It does not appear that the coach is in serious trouble.

The game ultimately ended with Vegas winning 3-2 in overtime. Colorado has already secured its place as the division winner, so the team has no stakes in the remaining regular-season games.

Here's an alternate angle of Jared Bednar's injury, where he took a puck to the face. Ouch. #goavsgo
