TPS has a harsh statistic – Tarmo Reunanen admits: “That’s why many games have been lost”
The captain of TPS, Tarmo Reunanen, commented on his team’s major flaw this season in an interview with MTV Katsomo.
Special teams play has often become a key issue for the Turku team when determining victories this season. The league’s star defenseman commented on the matter before Tuesday’s game against JYP.
– We have been trying to find answers. We have worked on it a lot, but it is true: we have lost many games this season due to our special teams play.
– Of course, the players who get to play it must take responsibility for it. We are trying to think about it, work on it, train, and have meetings to improve it, Reunanen believes.
TPS’s power play has only operated at 10.5 percent efficiency before Tuesday’s game against JYP. The Turku team’s power play percentage is the lowest in the league. On the penalty kill, TPS is the sixth-best team in the league with an 84.3 percent rating.
