Forward Santeri Hartikainen, 27, who has represented HIFK in the league for the past few years, has found a new team abroad. He will move to the Norwegian top league team Lillehammer for the next season.

Hartikainen played a total of 82 league games for HIFK over the last three seasons, with points of 5+7=12. Last season, he played 23 games for the club and recorded stats of 1+2.

During the past season, Hartikainen also played in the Mestis league, representing Kiekko-Vantaa and Joensuun Kiekko-Poikia. Since January, he played the rest of the season in Joensuu.

– We are very pleased with the acquisition of Santeri. He is a two-way center with a good understanding of the game and an excellent shot. He has represented Finland in U16, U17, and U18 national teams before continuing his development in the college league in the United States. Additionally, he has extensive experience in the Finnish league, which provides us with valuable experience and quality for the team. We believe that Santeri will be an important piece for us this season, Lillehammer’s sports committee member Lars Bergseng commented in the club’s announcement.

Next season, Lillehammer will also have two other Finns: goalkeeper Niilo Halonen and defenseman Viljami Juusola. The team’s head coach will be Saku Martikainen.
