The fate of the Tappara promise in the NHL has been revealed
The Juho Piiparinen, 18, selected by the Vegas Golden Knights in the first round of the NHL draft this summer, has found his team for this season.
Vegas announced on Thursday that the promising defenseman from Tappara will be playing this season with the London Knights in the junior league OHL.
Last season, Piiparinen played 29 regular season games with Tappara’s Liiga team, where the defenseman recorded 0+3 points. However, he did not receive any responsibility in the playoffs with the Liiga team.
In the U20 SM series, Piiparinen played 12 regular season games (1+12=13) and 14 playoff games (0+2).
Piiparinen served as the captain of the Little Lions in last season’s U18 World Championships.
Vegas 2026 first-round draft pick Juho Piiparinen will report to the @LondonKnights of @OHLHockey for the 2026-27 season.
