The Ottawa Senators have called up Lassi Thomson, 25, to fill the defensive gap caused by injuries in the NHL.
Thomson, who has played 18 NHL games in his career, is the Senators’ 1st round, 19th overall pick from 2019. The Finnish defenseman returned to North America this season from the SHL, where he played 50 regular-season games last season with Brynäs, recording 17+12=29 points.
Thomson last played NHL games in the 2022-23 season, during which he appeared in two games at the top level.
Thomson was also a familiar name in the Lions’ EHT teams last season. The defenseman played 12 A-international matches during the season, recording 2+1=3 points.
