HIFK announces on its website the departure of eight players. Defenders Jakob Ragnarsson, Kalle Ervasti, Petteri Lindbohm, and Tony Sund, forwards Tristan Ashbrook, Valtteri Piironen, and Jere Karjalainen, as well as goalkeeper Paavo Kohonen, are leaving HIFK for new horizons.

Ervasti, Ragnarsson, Ashbrook, and Karjalainen joined HIFK during this season. Ervasti scored 22 points in 47 games with 5+17=22, and Swedish defender Ragnarsson recorded 6 points in 36 games with 1+5=6.

American forward Ashbrook played 45 games with 18 points, scoring 6+12=18. Karjalainen’s season ended in December due to an injury. He played 25 games for HIFK, scoring 4+3=7.

Kohonen joined HIFK last summer. He played 14 games for the club this season with a save percentage of 88.4.

Piironen represented HIFK throughout the 2020s. He mostly played in the juniors. In the league, Piironen played a total of 18 games during this and last season.

Olympic champion and world champion Lindbohm represented HIFK for three seasons. He accumulated 89 regular season games with 26 points, scoring 11+15=26. World Championship silver medalist Sund also played three seasons for HIFK, recording 40 points in 122 regular season games with 5+35=40.
