The Jukurit team, which has started a clearing-out process, has sold several of its players in recent days. The team has previously seen Thomas Olsen, William Worge Kreü, Justin Addamo, Alberts Smits, and Juuso Arola leave.

Now Jukurit announces that forward Alexander Ruutu‘s contract has been terminated by mutual agreement with the player.

Ruutu, 33, represented Jukurit for his second season. This season, Ruutu, who served as the team’s alternate captain, played 44 games with a scoring record of 13+10=13. Over two seasons, Ruutu recorded a total of 76 games with Jukurit, achieving 21+17=38 points.

– Aku has been an important part of our team and daily life. He is an experienced player and gained new energy for his career with us. We want to thank Aku for his time at Jukurit and for the work he has put in for the team. We wish Aku all the best and success in his future challenges, says Jukurit’s sports director Mikko Hakkarainen in a statement.

Ruutu’s next destination was revealed quickly. He will move to Germany to join Adler Mannheim for the remainder of the season. The team is currently second in the DEL league.
