Hockey legend Teemu Selänne has commented on TPS forward Veli-Matti Savinainen‘s decision not to wear a pride-themed jersey. The decision has sparked lively discussion in both sports circles and politics.
Member of Parliament Mika Poutala defended Savinainen’s choice on his website, emphasizing that athletes should not be forced to participate in ideological campaigns. Selänne commented on Poutala’s post on social media with clapping emojis and a short message: “No one should…”.
Additionally, Selänne shared on his X account the official statement from TPS, in which the club expresses its support for Savinainen in his decision.
