The league’s top team Ässät received very grim news from the health front on Monday.

The Pori team reports on its website that the team’s golden helmet Jonne Tammela and French forward Dylan Fabre will be out for an extended sick leave.

Tammela, who has scored 9+14=23 points in 18 games this season, is expected to be sidelined for approximately the next 4-6 weeks. Fabre, who has scored 8+8=16 points in 21 games in the early part of the season, is in an even worse situation, as the skilled player is believed to return to action only after 10-12 weeks.

Additionally, Valtteri Viljanen and Aleksi Anttalainen continue on the Ässät’s injury list. Viljanen’s return to playing condition is just a matter of days. Anttalainen’s return timeline is estimated at 3-5 weeks.

Ässät heads into a new Liiga week from the top of the standings, two points ahead of JYP, which has played two fewer games. The Pori team’s week includes away games against Jukurit and Pelicans.
