Teemu Pulkkinen’s fierce speech in Russia
The comments of Teemu Pulkkinen, who moved to Kiekko-Vantaa last week with a lot of fuss, are stirring discussions in Russia.
Pulkkinen apologized for playing in Russia in Kiekko-Vantaa’s statement and later revealed that money was the motive for staying in the KHL, even though Russia is waging a full-scale war in Ukraine.
KHL’s vice president Valeri Kamenski considers Pulkkinen’s apology hypocritical. According to Kamenski, Pulkkinen should return the money he earned.
– If Pulkkinen regrets his decision (to leave Russia), then he must return the money he earned. He played in the best league in Europe. If he is against us, then he must return everything. That’s all. Strange behavior from a man who lived here, earned the money, and ran away – and still wants to represent us. Return all the money, and then you won’t represent us anymore, Kamenski stated in an interview with the Russian Match TV.
Pulkkinen played in the KHL from 2019 to 2024. The forward represented Dinamo Minsk, Dinamo Moscow, Lokomotiv Yaroslavl, Traktor, and Kunlun.
