Tappara receives a major reinforcement – NHL first-round draft pick returns to the Liiga
Juho Piiparinen will continue with Tappara in the upcoming Liiga season. The Tampere club announced on Monday evening that they have made a loan agreement for next season with the defense prospect who just signed an NHL entry-level contract.
Piiparinen, who will turn 18 in a week, was drafted in the first round at number 29 in the summer NHL draft. The Vegas Golden Knights made an entry-level contract with the defenseman in July.
Tappara’s GM Janne Vuorinen is pleased with the top prospect’s decision to continue his development in Tampere.
– Thanks to Vegas for the good cooperation regarding Piiparinen’s loan agreement. It’s great to have Juho continue his development in the Tappara jersey, Vuorinen expresses in the club’s statement.
Last season, Piiparinen played 29 regular season games for Tappara and recorded 0+3 points.
The 190-centimeter defense prospect was also seen last season in the Finland jersey at both the under-18 and under-20 World Championships.
