Tappara dropped a huge contract news!
Tappara announced a major contract news during the match against Jokerit on Friday night. Tappara has signed a two-year extension with defenseman Jyrki Jokipakka, 35.
Last season, Jokipakka was one of the best defensemen in the league. In the regular season and playoffs, he recorded impressive stats of 13+31=44 in 67 games.
– Jyrki Jokipakka’s return to Tampere has been successful. We are extremely pleased that Jykä will continue for the next two seasons in a Tappara jersey. His selection to the Liiga All Stars team last season speaks volumes about his level. As a good team player and experienced professional, he is an important link in the locker room, commented Tappara’s GM Janne Vuorinen in the club’s press release.
This season, Jokipakka has scored 1+2=3 points in seven games.
