Tähtisentteri Oula Palve returns to the League – surprise transfer confirmed
This season’s top scorer in the Liiga, the star center Oula Palve, has signed a two-year contract with Vaasan Sport.
The 34-year-old Palve has played the last two seasons abroad – in Switzerland and Sweden.
– I am eagerly looking forward to getting to work. I want to bring my skills here and I will give my all for the team. From the first game, it’s full throttle. I’ve heard that there’s a good group and good guys here, Palve commented on his surprising transfer on Sport’s website.
Sport’s head coach Lauri Mikkola is naturally pleased to have the experienced top forward join the team.
– Oula Palve brings us a lot more offensive skill, creativity for power plays, but also for 5v5 play. He is an experienced center who has performed well in the Liiga and other top leagues in Europe. Overall, we are adding a very good player to the team, the head coach describes.
Palve, who represented EHC Kloten and Djurgården last season, will join Sport’s training squad on Tuesday.
His debut in the Vaasa team is set for Saturday when Sport faces HIFK at home.
