Veteran forward Olli Palola moves to Tampereen Ilves.

The 37-year-old Palola arrives at the club with a contract valid until November 2.

Last season, Palola played 29 games for Porin Ässät, scoring 13+3=16 points. This season, the Ilves product has been without a club.

– Olli adds competition for our forward positions both at even strength and on the power play. He brings us experience on the ice and in the locker room amidst absences and a busy match schedule. His personality will surely allow him to adapt to our team very quickly, Ilves’ sports director Timo Koskela states in a press release.

Palola has won the league’s top scorer title twice in his career. He claimed the trophy in 2014 and 2015 while playing for Tappara.

Ilves’ season has started in a terrible way. The Tampere club has only gathered nine points in 11 matches and is second to last in the league table.
