Team captain Eric Gelinas, 34, is sidelined from games.
Sports journalist Kimmo Mäkeläinen reports on X that the Canadian defender Gelinas has been playing with an injury. According to Mäkeläinen, Gelinas will be out of action for at least this week.
So far this season, Gelinas has played 23 games with points of 3+5. His plus/minus statistic shows a grim number of -13.
Gelinas, who joined Lukko during the ongoing season, had strong stats last season with 6+11=17 points in 21 regular season games and 2+4 points in 11 playoff games.
This week, Lukko will play a home game against HIFK on Wednesday, face Jukurit at home on Friday, and travel to play against HPK on Saturday.
