Supplier: This man is pushing to be John Tortorella’s successor in Vegas
The next head coach of the Vegas Golden Knights is being found from within its own organization. According to NHL reporter Jason Gregor, Ryan Craig is a candidate for the new head coach of Vegas to replace John Tortorella.
Craig, 44, has worked in the Vegas organization since the team’s first season. From 2017 to 2023, he served as an assistant coach for Vegas, being part of the coaching staff that won the Stanley Cup in 2023.
For the past three seasons, Craig has been the head coach of the Henderson Silver Knights in the AHL. This team is the farm team for Vegas.
This past season, Vegas started under Bruce Cassidy, but he was fired from his position at the end of the regular season. He was replaced by Tortorella, who ultimately led Vegas to the Stanley Cup finals. The team lost the finals to the Carolina Hurricanes.
