Supplier: Long-term SHL star is being sought for the League: “Has received several offers”
Canadian forward Brendan Shinnimin, 35, who has played in the Swedish SHL for a long time, has received several contract offers from Liiga, reports journalist Sasha Huttunen on X.
According to Huttunen, Shinnimin is considering the offers he has received. He also has the option to stay with his current team in Luleå on a cheaper contract. Shinnimin’s current contract ends after this season.
– 35 years old but apparently in great shape and a good skater. Would be an interesting addition to the league if it happens, Huttunen writes.
Shinnimin is representing Luleå for his fifth season. This season, he has recorded 11 points (5+6) in 30 games with the team. Earlier in the season, he also had a brief stint in Slovakia with HC Slovan Bratislava, where he played nine games and scored 1+4 points.
Shinnimin has also represented Växjö Lakers in the SHL. In recent years, he has been a player with around 30 points in Sweden. Shinnimin has won two championships in the SHL, the last of which came last spring. In last spring’s playoffs, Shinnimin scored 12 points (7+5) in 17 games.
Shinnimin has played 12 games in the NHL with the Arizona Coyotes, recording 0+1 points. The forward also has experience from the KHL, Switzerland, and Germany.
