David Tomasek, who had impressive stats with JYP during the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons, is close to a lucrative contract.

According to Expressen, the 30-year-old Czech forward, who started the season with the Edmonton Oilers and returned to play in the SHL with Färjestad, is moving back to his home country for the next season.

– Superstar Tomasek will play in Pardubice next season. The contract will make him one of the salary kings in Europe, Expressen reports.

Tomasek moved from the SHL to North America last fall. The forward played 22 NHL games with the Oilers during the early part of the season, with stats of 3+2. However, the parties terminated the contract before the turn of the year.

In Färjestad, Tomasek played 19 regular-season games (8+11=19) and seven playoff games (5+0) during the remainder of the season.

Färjestad’s season ended in a terrible way, as the team lost their SHL quarterfinal series to Rögle with a score of 3-4 after having a 3-0 lead in the series.
