Source: The SHL star rumored in the league made his choice – here is the new address
The Canadian forward Brendan Shinnimin, rumored to be joining the league, will continue his career in Sweden next season, reports Expressen. According to the Swedish newspaper, Shinnimin has signed a contract with the SHL team Linköping HC.
Shinnimin was previously strongly linked to TPS in rumors. Expressen reports that Shinnimin received offers from Finland and Germany, but he decided to reject them and continue playing in the SHL.
Shinnimin, 35, represented Luleå in the SHL for the last five seasons. In the past season, he recorded 11 points in 34 regular-season games with 5+6=11 and 7 points in 14 playoff games with 4+3=7. Shinnimin also played nine games in Slovakia with HC Slovan Bratislava earlier in the season, scoring 1+4.
Shinnimin has also represented Växjö Lakers in the SHL. He has several seasons with around 30 points in Sweden. He has celebrated championship victories in the league twice.
In his career, Shinnimin has played 12 NHL games with the Arizona Coyotes, recording 0+1. He has also played in the KHL, Switzerland, and Germany during his career.
