Source: Lars Bryggman’s TPS transfer at risk – another club coming in between?
The transfer of Swedish forward Lars Bryggman to TPS has previously been almost certain according to Swedish media, but now new nuances have emerged in the situation. Speculation has arisen in Sweden that the forward may not actually be moving to Turku for the next season.
Bryggman has had a strong spring in Skellefteå and has been a prominent figure in the playoffs. His future has sparked a lot of discussion both in Finland and Sweden.
The Swedish newspaper Expressen previously reported that Bryggman had made a deal with TPS. However, according to the paper, there are details in the situation that could still change the plans.
Contracts for Liiga players often contain clauses that allow for a transfer to the SHL. According to Expressen, this would not be the case for Bryggman.
– According to our information, there is no such clause in Bryggman’s deal with TPS, Expressen reports.
This would practically mean that Bryggman would have to be bought out of his TPS contract.
Bryggman himself has kept his future open amid the playoffs.
– There are a lot of speculations surrounding my future, and I understand that. I’m focusing fully on the playoffs now and will think about the future later, Bryggman told Expressen.
He also commented on the possibility of staying in Skellefteå.
– I really like this place. That’s why I bought an apartment here as well. But if we talk about my hockey-related future, that needs to be addressed after the season, Bryggman continued.
Skellefteå has been performing strongly in the SHL semifinals, as the team leads Luleå 3–0.
