Solution to HIFK’s goalkeeper situation!
HIFK has signed a season-long contract with goalkeeper Hugo Alnefelt. The 24-year-old Swede joined the club on a trial basis in October.
Alnefelt played six games for HIFK with a save percentage of 88.89. His stats are marred by a dreadful debut match against HPK, where he conceded five goals in under 30 minutes. Since then, Alnefelt has played five games with a save percentage of 91.41.
– Hugo has consistently improved his performance as expected after getting games under his belt. Especially in the most recent matches, he has given the team a chance to fight for league points, head coach Olli Jokinen states in a press release.
Alnefelt played his first shutout last Saturday in a home game against league leaders Pori Ässät.
– Saturday will surely bring more confidence to Hugo, but also to the whole team, Jokinen says.
