Sinuhe Wallinheimo thundered: “Nuts idea”
Imatra Ketterä announced on Friday that it will be applying for a league license for the next season.
The Imatra club is currently playing in the finals of the Mestis – and is entitled to apply for a league spot. Jokerit has already been granted a league license for the 2026–27 season earlier this season.
Ketterä’s recent decision has sparked a lot of discussion on social media. The matter has been commented on by former goalkeeper Sinuhe Wallinheimo.
– All credit to Imatra hockey and the work that has been done there. But this is still a completely crazy idea. I would sleep on it overnight and think again, Wallinheimo wrote on X.
In the comments of the post, Wallinheimo’s view has been challenged a lot. However, the former goalkeeper has elaborated on his perspective.
– There is urgency in both the player market, big sponsorship deals + the arena is so small that too much is given in terms of balance (again on the financial side), etc.
