The seasons of JYP forward Santeri Huovila and defender Roni Jokinen are over. Both were injured in Friday’s match against HIFK, and according to JYP, both injuries require surgery.

Huovila injured his knee in a shooting situation without contact with an opponent. His balance failed, his knee twisted, and he was taken off the ice on a stretcher.

The 22-year-old Huovila managed to score 1+7 in six matches. Last season, he collected 42 points in 33 matches, despite being sidelined for months due to an injury.

JYP has won all six of its matches this season and collected a full 18 points. The team is playing its first ten matches away due to renovations at Hippoks.

According to JYP, Juuso Puustinen will also be out for 1–2 weeks and Väinö Liikonen for 3–4 weeks.
