SaiPa: significant contract news released!
SaiPa has signed a two-year extension with captain Samuli Niinisaaren.
Defender Niinisaari, 27, moved to SaiPa from the NCAA last season. He played 60 regular season games for SaiPa’s silver medal team last season, scoring 4+11=15 points, and 21 playoff games with 1+2 points.
SaiPa appointed Niinisaari as their new captain for this season. This season, he has played 15 games with a scoring record of 3+3.
– Last season, Samuli emerged on the league map as a relatively unknown player to the audience. Throughout the season, he demonstrated through his actions that he is a skilled top athlete who fights tenaciously and always puts the team’s interests first. Samuli has a desire to learn and develop, which is evident in everything he does. As a captain, he is constantly present in daily life and is ready every day to turn over every stone to achieve the best results together. We are very pleased that Samuli wants to play for SaiPa for the next two seasons, SaiPa’s sports director Harri Aho commented in the club’s announcement.
