SaiPa has made contract extensions with three of its forwards.

The club announces that Miikka Salomäki and Otto Hokkanen will continue with the team under contracts covering the next season. Additionally, Miro Tauslahti has signed a two-year extension with SaiPa.

Salomäki, 32, is playing his first season with SaiPa. He has scored 21 points (9+12) in 32 games. The experienced Salomäki has previously played in the NHL, Sweden, Switzerland, and the Czech Republic. In the Finnish league, he has represented Kärpät and HIFK.

– Härkä’s contribution night after night is really important, and he gives his all as a player in every shift, SaiPa’s sports director Harri Aho commented in the club’s announcement.

Hokkanen, 21, has been part of SaiPa’s Liiga team since the 2021-22 season. His point record comes from last season, where he scored 13 points (7+6) in 47 games. This season, Hokkanen has already scored 10 points (6+4) in 26 games.

Tauslahti, 21, played his first Liiga games with SaiPa two seasons ago. This season, he has been given responsibility in 14 games, where he has scored one goal.

– I am very pleased with these three contract extensions, as they are part of the continuity we have been calling for. Each of the forwards has found their place in this team and is well aware of what playing like SaiPa looks like. Both Hokkanen and Tauslahti have also earned their spots in the team as younger, diligent workers. Each forward will continue to be an important part of the team, Aho commented.
