Oulu’s Kärpät star forward Ben Tardif, 25, is moving mid-season to the SHL team Luleå, reports Expressen.
According to Expressen, Kärpät and Luleå have agreed on a transfer fee of 100,000 euros. Tardif is expected to play for the Swedish team next season as well.
The Swedish newspaper NSD reported earlier on Tuesday that Tardif had requested a transfer away from Kärpät. It was said that Tardif was even willing to compromise on his salary to facilitate the transfer.
Tardif has played the last three seasons in the Liiga. The Canadian has also represented KooKoo for one season in addition to Kärpät. This season, the forward has recorded 10 goals and 4 assists in 20 games.
