Raimo Helmisen SaiPa made a strong acquisition – is this Maxime Fortier’s replacement?
Raimo Helmisen led SaiPa has strengthened its offense by signing Czech winger Petr Fridrich to a one-year contract.
The 25-year-old Fridrich has played the last two seasons with the Czech top league team HC Olomouc. He recorded 32 points with 21 goals and 11 assists in 52 games, finishing tied for fourth in the Czech Extraliga’s goal scoring chart.
At SaiPa, Fridrich is expected to fill the gap left by Maxime Fortier, who has been linked in rumors to Jokerit.
Known as a fast and straightforward winger, Fridrich has also gained experience with the Czech national team over three seasons.
– Petr is our kind of hardworking right winger. He clearly possesses the qualities suited for SaiPa’s style of play and brings speed and skill to the offense, SaiPa’s sports director Harri Aho commented in a press release.
