Pori Ässät has acquired a wealth of experience and offensive power for their defense. The team announced on Tuesday that Ethan Prow, 33, who has made a significant impact in the AHL throughout his career, is joining the team on a contract for the remainder of the season.

The sports director of Ässät, Jarno Kultanen, expects the new acquisition to bring more options, especially to the Poris’ offensive play.

– Ethan Prow sees the ice well, makes plays that advance the game with the puck, and supports attacks in a timely manner. He brings additional tools for the coaching staff, especially to support offensive play, but also defends with a professional player’s touch, Kultanen lists in Ässät’s announcement.

Prow has demonstrated his scoring ability particularly in the AHL, where he has surpassed the 40-point milestone three times. In his best AHL season in 2018-19, he recorded 50 points with 18 goals and 32 assists in 78 games.

Last season, the defenseman played in the German DEL league. In a Grizzlys Wolfsburg jersey, the veteran defenseman collected 26 points with 2 goals and 24 assists in 44 games.

Ässät reports that Prow will arrive in Pori during the next week. The defenseman is currently still in North America, and the team is awaiting approval for the 180-centimeter tall American defenseman’s entry visa applications.
