Kiekko-Espoo’s young goalkeeper Petteri Rimpinen is expecting success from his team in the upcoming League “super season”.

The 20-year-old Rimpinen strongly believes that Kiekko-Espoo, relying on Espoo’s expertise, will challenge for top positions in the League next season.

– We can definitely be a top 4 team in the league. I see it this way, that we can annoy the bigger teams. We already beat Tappara three times in the regular season last year, Rimpinen states to Iltalehti.

Rimpinen, who shone in goal for the Under-20 National Team in two consecutive World Championships, was drafted into the NHL last summer by the Los Angeles Kings, who selected the goalkeeper in the fifth round.

However, the Finnish prospect is expected to be seen in the domestic League next season.

– I will play in Kiekko-Espoo next season, unless something really surprising happens, reveals Rimpinen, who is completing his military service this summer.

The new League season kicks off on September 1st. Kiekko-Espoo will host KalPa in the opening round.
