Pelicans: tough comeback against Jokerit match!
Jokerit and Pelicans will meet on Tuesday’s Liiga round in Helsinki. The match starts at 18:30.
Initially, Jussi Olkinuora was marked as the starting goalkeeper for Pelicans in the match, who has played all of the team’s matches so far. However, Olkinuora has disappeared from Pelicans’ lineup, and instead, Frantisek Poletin will be seen in goal for the team from Lahti.
The 18-year-old Czech Poletin will thus make his Liiga debut on Tuesday. He has represented Pelicans’ juniors for the past two seasons. Last season, he recorded a save percentage of 91.1 in 13 games with Pelicans’ U20 team.
For backup, Pelicans has promoted Patrik Bartosak, who has been sidelined at the beginning of the season due to injury.
Olkinuora has started his season strongly in goal for Pelicans. He recorded a save percentage of 90.3 in six games and an average of 1.88 goals against. Olkinuora has also played one shutout game.
Pelicans won their first three games of the season and has since lost the last three. Jokerit, on the other hand, has lost all five of their games.
