Lahden Pelicans has signed a one-year extension with goalkeeper Frantisek Poletin, known from the Czech youth national teams.

The sports director of Pelicans, Jarkko Oikarinen Holm, sees a lot of potential in the 17-year-old Poletin.

– Poletin is a player we strongly believe in for his development. He has shown a desire to improve and work for the team, and we believe he can raise his level further. We are pleased that the cooperation continues, Oikarinen Holm commented on Pelicans’ official website.

Poletin, who arrived in Lahti in the summer of 2024, played 13 games for Pelicans’ U20 team last season. His save percentage was 91.1 and his goals against average was 2.38. Additionally, he recorded three shutouts.

The Lahti club also announced that they have signed a one-year extension with defender Onni Amhamdi, 20, who made his debut in the league last season.
