The Montreal Canadiens defeated the Nashville Predators last night in overtime 3-2. Patrik Laine played in the Canadiens’ fourth line again.

Laine’s game was once again a poor performance. He finished without any points, and his weak defensive play led to one opponent’s goal. Laine’s ice time was only 12 minutes and ten seconds.

The impressive fall season player from Montreal, Oliver Kapanen, was once again in strong form and scored his team’s opening goal of the night. The Finnish center was completely forgotten in front of the net, allowing him to bang the loose puck in.

Kapanen played in Montreal’s second line. Next to him were Alex Newhook and Ivan Demidov. However, Kapanen’s ice time was limited. He logged only 11 minutes and 59 seconds of playing time. The Finnish center won faceoffs with an 80 percent success rate.

Kapanen has now played five games and scored three goals in them. Laine, on the other hand, has collected one assist in five games.
