Elias Pettersson has been one of the biggest underperformers in the NHL in recent seasons. It’s no wonder that his name has been circulating in trade rumors for quite some time. A change of scenery could do the Swedish star some good.
According to NHL reporter David Pagnotta, Vancouver is not making it easy to acquire Pettersson.
– Vancouver is not going to retain any of Pettersson’s $11.6 million annual salary, Pagnotta told Hello Hockey.
Last season, Pettersson recorded 45 points in 64 games. This season, his scoring pace has been even weaker, with 34 points in 49 games. Expectations are significantly higher on the superstar’s paycheck.
