HIFK heads into Wednesday’s match against Jukurit with a heavily modified lineup. The Helsinki team, which lost its previous match in Mikkeli, has revamped nearly its entire offensive roster.

Head coach Olli Jokinen has been rearranging the lines thoroughly. All four forward lines have changed shape, and three defensive pairs have also received new arrangements.

The biggest change is seen in the top lines. Eetu Liukas and Niko Huuhtanen, who have only played two games together, will no longer continue in the same line.

On Wednesday, Liukas will start in the first line alongside Jake Leschyshyn and Vincent Marleau. Huuhtanen, on the other hand, moves to the second line, where Jori Lehterä plays as center and Daniel Mäkiaho is on the other wing.

A new name also comes to the defense. HIFK’s recent Czech reinforcement David Nemecek will finally make his Liiga debut. The 194-centimeter defender will form the second pair with Kasper Puutio.

In goal, Jokinen chooses Hugo Alnefelt this time. The Swede, who initially started in the role of backup goalie, will thus get the chance to play against Jukurit.

For HIFK, Wednesday’s match is an opportunity to quickly respond to the loss suffered in Mikkeli. Based on the lineup, Jokinen certainly did not wait for a change after the previous match.
