HIFK was unable to nail the coffin shut on Tuesday, as KalPa leveled the playoff series by winning 4–1 in Helsinki.

The home team’s head coach Olli Jokinen commented on the match in an interview with SuomiKiekko after the game.

– KalPa came into the game very strong, while we let the first period slip by. We need to be able to respond to KalPa’s speed better.

Tuesday’s result extended the playoff series to a fifth and decisive match, which will be played on Thursday in Kuopio. According to Jokinen, the Helsinki team needs to raise their game for the upcoming battle.

– We need to get back to our own game. We are up against the reigning champion, so we need to find a way to play our best game of the series on Thursday.

Jokinen believes the series will have a worthy conclusion.

– All the games have been tight and even. It’s great that everything will be decided in the fifth game. The series will get the conclusion it deserves.
