Oliver Lauridsen: the next season's team has been revealed!

TPS has signed a one-year extension with defender Oliver Lauridsen, 37. The Dane will start his fourth season in the black and white jersey next season.

Lauridsen played 49 regular season games last season, recording 2+7=9 points. He has been part of the TPS leadership group as an alternate captain for the past two seasons and has been an important player for the team.

– I am really excited about continuing here. Over the years, this club and city have become very important to me. We are not satisfied with last season’s results, and the goal is to come back clearly stronger – I expect more from myself as well. There are many new things happening in the league, which makes me look forward to the season even more – it will definitely be an exciting season. It’s great to be able to play again in front of the fans at Gatorade Center, Lauridsen states in the press release.

TPS head coach Toni Söderholm emphasizes Lauridsen’s importance to the team.

– He is a player we value. For many young players, he is an important anchor who takes care of his teammates and maintains the standard in the locker room. Additionally, he serves as an important link within the team and provides us with valuable insights into where the team is at. He brings professionalism to the team and does his job professionally, regardless of the role – we appreciate that, says TPS head coach Toni Söderholm.

At the end of the season, Lauridsen made headlines due to a controversial incident. He checked Ässät’s Petteri Riihinen in the head in the second-to-last game of the regular season and received a game misconduct for the situation. He was handed an eight-game suspension, which will carry over into next season.
